The aims of the Friends of Minack Society are to advance the education of the public about the Minack Chronicles and to support the charities favoured by Derek and Jeannie. The links below are those which the Derek and Jeannie supported and which the Friends of Minack Society have subsequently chosen as meeting the aims of the the Society.

birds
Mousehole Wild Bird Hospital and Sanctuary is based in Mousehole and cares for the many wild birds that need treatment and help. Those unable to return to the wild are given sanctuary for the remainder of their life.
donkey
The Donkey Sanctuary is based at Sidmouth, Devon where the donkeys, Merlin and Susie, went to live here following Derek's death. Merlin has since died but Susie is still living happily with her new friends.

Cornwall Wildlife Trust is a registered charity and is the only organisation dedicated to the conservation of the Cornish environment and its wildlife. The best protection you can offer any piece of land is to own it and manage it as a nature reserve. We have already established over 50 nature reserves , in which examples of each of Cornwall's habitats give refuge to nationally rare and endangered species. Our reserves are protected forever.
Cats Protection is a national charity with over 260 branches across the UK. The Isle of Arran has a small branch run by volunteers who believe that all cats in their care should be found homes on the island. Linda Hartley is the Co-ordinator for this branch and also the webmaster for the FOMS website.

 Sea Glimpes A Cornish site giving links to a number of other sites including 'News from Cornwall' a fascintating insight to life in Cornwall, regularly updated and well worth a visit. Also Mounts Bay Books which includes a number of photos from Tim Scott whose works feature in many of Derek's books.

Lamorna Society's aims are to:
Enjoy the creative output of the Lamorna Valley - its art, poetry and literature, together with its social and natural history.
Enjoy places, people and things associated with S.J. Lamorna Birch and his circle and to construct a Lamorna archive.
 

Cornish Volunteer Look-Up Library An American site set up under the Ancestry.com community hosted by Roots Web.
The Library was created in 1998 through the collective efforts of Cornish Mailings lists on Roots Web. Cornish descendants can link here to find details about their ancestors, see photos, arrange for Cornish related meetings/get togethers and you will also find Derek's work now referred to in their library section.
