2011 ~ '50th Anniversary of The Minack Chronicles Festival'

2011 sees the 50th Anniversary of the publication in 1961 by Michael Joseph Ltd of
'A Gull on the Roof ' - the first of the Minack Chronicles and hence the reason for our Society's existence. Although just over four years away, such an anniversary could not be allowed to pass without a special celebration of the work of Derek, of his life with Jeannie, and the unique contribution this remarkable couple made, both to the literary life of Cornwall and the personal lives of so many 'Friends’.

We have started to plan for a '50th Anniversary of The Minack Chronicles Festival' to be held in Penzance at the time of our AGM in 2011. Early ideas are for an exhibition and illustrated talks with guest speakers.
Any other ideas from members or non- members would be warmly welcomed.
